Become a TIPS Trainer

Becoming certified as a TIPS trainer offers many advantages:

  • The flexibility to conduct training sessions where and when you need them.
  • Can offer a substantial savings over online training.
  • An on staff TIPS trainer can also represent a supplemental revenue stream if training is offered to neighboring organizations and allows you to train participants according to a convenient schedule that suits your needs.

To certify as a trainer you are required to attend a two-day workshop and complete the certification exam. You will be certified for one year, and positioned to offer the most effective responsible alcohol service training available.

Suicide Prevention

What is QPR?

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying “Yes” to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. QPR can be learned in our Gatekeeper course in as little as one hour”

ASIST

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid. It is suitable for all kinds of caregivers – health workers, teachers, community workers, Gardai, youth workers, volunteers, people responding to family, friends and co-workers.

If you’d like to make a difference in your community, come to ASIST and learn how to help.

The Opportunity
It begins with you…

Most people thinking about suicide signal and share their pain – they offer us opportunities to respond.

Suicide intervention training can help all of us see, hear and respond to these invitations. It can also increase our confidence to ask about suicide when someone’s safety may be in the balance.

If someone is at risk, suicide first aid prepares us to work with them to increase their immediate safety and get further help.
